The Chestnut Ridge Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting and preserving the history and artifacts of an area of the Laurel Mountains of Pennsylvania that is known as the Chestnut Ridge.
Boundaries for our area of interest are: ...to the west, to the top of Three Mile Hill in Acme; ...east, to the Laurel Mountain summit; ...south, to Indian Head; ...north, along the Cook Township line. Within that perimeter is located the Borough of Donegal and the Townships of Cook, Donegal and part of Mount Pleasant in Westmoreland County. Also, Saltlick Township and portion of Bullskin Township in Fayette County. |

The group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7pm in our small museum located in the Cook Township Community Center in Stahlstown, Pennsylvania.
Membership Dues are $10.00 a year per person or $15.00 per couple.
Commercial Membership Fees are pro-rated based upon the applicant's number of employees. A business with more that ten employees is $35.00 per year; one with fewer than ten employees is $25.00 per year. Please refer to our Membership page.
The Chestnut Ridge Historical Society was incorporated May 23, 1995 in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and has likewise attained 501(c) (3) tax status with the federal government. We have no paid officers.
Monetary donations as well as gifts of artifacts, photos and family genealogies are always welcome and appreciated.
